Personality: She's got a sly, sarcastic aura surrounding her. Practically all of the time she has a snarky remark to make to someone. Most people don't know, but that is simply an act; a wall surrounding her. She only shows her true emotions with her sister Alyss. She absolutely hates her father too, and even he knows it.
Character background: One night Jade heard her mother and father arguing over whether or not Jade should be trained for the Hunger Games, since Jade was only one year away from being reaped. Her mother said she shouldn't be trained, and that it was illegal. Her father disagreed, and wanted Jade to go into the games and win. Jade's mother died a week later. When Jade questioned her father about how she died, her father simply said that her mother died under mysterious circumstances. Since then, he took Jade and trained her for the games, knowing that she would go in by the time she was 18.
Jade's little sister, Alyss, was 4 when their mother died. She's now 11, and next year she will be able to be reaped but Jade will be one year too old. Lawres, their father, realized how much devotion Jade has to her little sister, and decided he could guarantee that Jade would go into the games by threatening he would force Alyss, who is a quiet, timid girl, to volunteer the next year, knowing she would certainly die. This broke Jade's last nerve, and she now trains every day to make sure she'll win the games, and come home to save Alyss from their asshole of a father.
Jade's had one friend, Harper, who is also in Career Tribute Training but decided to not volunteer, even though it's his last year eligible. Harper and Jade always train together, and they have a very close relationship.
